Dogtoberfest

Get ready for a barking good time at Dogtoberfest on October 18, from 8:30am-2pm!

Beaumont Civic Center

With 7 murals in one location, it's easy to see why artist celebrate and paint the town for the annual Mural Festival! Snap a photo and share your mural selfies with @VisitBeaumontTx.

Beaumont Botanical Gardens
This 23.5 acre garden of ever-changing beauty is located near the entrance to Tyrrell Park, a 500 acre City of Beaumont Park. A paved Friendship Walk offers excellent views of the various theme gardens, as well as providing easy access for strollers and wheelchairs. Benches along the way invite visitors to rest a moment and “take time to smell the flowers.” The gardens are located in a migratory bird flyway, with lots of year round birds as well, offering a great place for bird watching. John Jay French Museum
The John Jay French house, built in 1845, is one of the oldest surviving houses in Beaumont. It is also one of the first houses in Beaumont built with two stories, using milled lumber. The John Jay French Museum demonstrates the life of a prosperous Texas pioneer family from 1845-1865. The historic pioneer settlement is filled with antique furnishings, clothing and pioneer household utensils. Outbuildings on the grounds include a blacksmith shop, tannery, privy and smokehouse. Edison Museum
Located in Beaumont, Texas, the museum is dedicated to Thomas Alva Edison and his inventions and innovations, the museum interprets Edison through interactive exhibits while using more than 60 historic objects. The museum offers visitors insight into Thomas A. Edison - America's Greatest Inventor. The museum is housed in the historic Travis Street Substation building. We have more than 1,400 artifacts in our growing study collection and an expanding reference library. The museum is the only facility of it's kind west of the Mississippi River. Visitors explore the fascinating world of petroleum science and technology from the geological formation of oil to the chemistry of modern refining. Visitors discover the history of Texas oil as robotic characters share their adventures of the great 1901 Spindletop gusher.

Art Museum of Southeast Texas
The Art Museum of Southeast Texas offers the area's most esteemed artwork, interactive features and family-friendly experiences. Stop for lunch at Two Magnolias or participate in Family Arts Day events offered four times a year. The museum also has a gift shop to buy souvenirs. Museum Admission Cost: Free
The McFaddin-Ward House Historic Museum
The McFaddin-Ward House Museum serves as Beaumont's cultural and historic center offering house tours of the three-story home and hosting special events. Built in 1906 in the Beaux-Arts Colonial style the building and its furnishings reflect the lifestyle of the prominent family who lived in the house for 75 years. Reservations for docent-lead tours are highly recommended and can be made by calling 409-832-2134.Children must be 8 years or older to tour the house. All ages are welcome on a self-guided tour of the Carriage House. Closed Mondays. Tour cost: $5

Fire Museum of Texas
Open since 1984 this tribute to firefighters houses a collection of antique engines and firefighting equipment dating back to the 1800s. Tyrrell Park Nature and Visitor Center

Tyrrell Park Nature and Visitor Center is housed in the newly refurbished CCC building in the park that was originally built in the mid 1930's. At the Nature Center you can enjoy the history of building, park and Beaumont. In the near future expect to enjoy interactive exhibits focused on the scenic natural environment and wildlife of Southeast Texas. For now, head to the Nature Center to check out the Gift Shop that is stocked with a wide range of unique inventory.

Located on the campus of Lamar University, the Dishman Art Museum is a free museum with exhibits that change monthly.
Spindletop Gladys-City Boomtown Museum
Through a self-guided tour, visitors to Gladys City experience 15 replica buildings filled with objects from the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries that depict life during the first Spindletop oil boom. From a saloon and post office to a general store and livery stable, visitors get a glimpse of what it might have been like to work and live in the historic Spindletop oilfield.
